Participants will gain knowledge of essential safety principles, including the hierarchy of control, root-cause analysis, and the concept of assigning the right tool to the right person for each job. The training will also cover current OHS regulations, with a focus on individual responsibilities and rights to ensure compliance. Participants will be introduced to various hazards commonly found on construction sites and the relevant control measures, along with tools such as lock-out/tag-out procedures, risk matrices, checklists, accident investigation methods, and the point-and-call method to facilitate effective safety management.
The course aims to equip participants with the skills needed to enforce essential safety practices on-site. By the end of the training, they will be able to identify hazards, implement appropriate control measures, and conduct OHS awareness sessions for workers.
